Sweet and Spicy Crispy Beef

Crispy beef cooked with a sweet and spicy sauce leaving you wanting to take bite after bite! It doesn't get better than that! You can serve it over fresh rice topped with Thai chilies or even add it to your favorite fried noodles!

Ingredients for this Recipe

  • 1 tbsp Oil

  • 3-6 Beef Chunks, Cut in Strips

  • 1/3 cup Cornstarch

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Cumin

  • 1 tsp Chili Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Ginger, minced

  • 1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce

  • 1/3 cup Soy Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1/4 cup Water

  • Your choice of Stir Fry Veggie - I recommend Mushrooms and/or Bell Peppers

  • 3 Thai Chilies

Instructions for this Recipe

  1. Start by cutting your beef chunks into 1-inch strips. As thinly as possible. Put strips into a bowl and set aside.

  2. Add cornstarch, salt, cumin, and chili powder in a small bowl. Mix it and then coat the beef strips with the cornstarch mix.

  3. Heat up the oil. Once heated, add your coated beef. Don't mix the beef too often to get a nice crispy coat. Leave it to crisp for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

  4. While the beef is cooking, make the sauce.

  5. Add ginger, chili sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, and water in a small bowl. Set aside.

  6. Once your beef has developed a nice crispy coat, set it aside on a plate. Don't worry about it being 100% cooked on the inside as it will do so in the sauce later.

  7. In the same pot, whatever veggies you choose, add them now. I prefer mushrooms and even bell peppers. Let the veggies cook until softened.

  8. Add your meat back into the pot with the stir-fry. Mix and then pour the sauce into the pot. Turn your heat to medium-low and cover your pot. Let it cook until the sauce thickens.

  9. Serve over fresh rice topped with Thai chilies and enjoy!
