Orange Chicken - Panda Express Copycat Recipe
If you've ever had the orange chicken from Panda Express, then you know just how good and flavorful it really is. The tender chicken is baked and then tossed in a beautiful zesty sauce... it's a definite chef's kiss!
This recipe will make you question if you ever need to go back to panda express for the orange chicken when you can make it at home. ;)

Although there are multiple steps to this recipe, once you make it you'll realize just how easy it is and it'll be totally worth it in the end. You'll be coating and baking the chicken and then making the sauce in a separate batch and then for the grand finale, topping the chicken over some fresh fried rice or your favorite noodles!
---
Let's get started with the ingredients needed for this delicious recipe:
2 chicken breasts
2 cups flour
2 large eggs, beaten
2-3 cups breadcrumbs
1 tbsp cornstarch
⅓ cup orange juice
1 tsp sesame oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
5 tbsp sugar
10 tbsp white vinegar
1 tbsp oil
1 ½ tbsp ginger, minced
2 tsp garlic, minced
½ tsp crushed red pepper

Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees.
Then, cut your chicken into square bite-size pieces. Add to a bowl.

In 3 separate bowls, add your flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Spray a baking pan with oil. Dip the chicken pieces into the flour, then the egg then the breadcrumbs, and place on the baking pan. Coat all the chicken pieces in this order until you've coated all of them

Bake chicken for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked, golden, and crispy.

Time to make the sauce! In a small mixing bowl, mix together the cornstarch, orange juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, and white vinegar. Set aside.
After you make the sauce, mince your ginger and garlic cloves.

In a pan, heat up your oil and add your ginger, garlic, and crushed red peppers. Cook for 30 seconds, or until aromatic.

Add the sauce to the pan and bring to a boil until it thickens then turn off the heat.

Coat your chicken with the nicely thickened sauce and make sure all chicken pieces are covered with the sauce. Serve fresh over your favorite side of rice or noodles.
