Do Good for the Sake of Allah

Surah Al-Baqarah

Spend in the cause of Allah and do not let your own hands throw you into destruction ˹by withholding˺. And do good, for Allah certainly loves the good-doers. [2:195]

In this ayat, Allah is telling us the importance of spending and doing good for Allah's sake. If you set your intention to spend your money for good reasons, for Allah's sake, you will be rewarded for it. If you do good in your life, good deeds, for Allah's sake and not for the attention of others, you will gain so much more from it.

For example, let's say you see someone who needs help, whether it's money, food, shelter, etc., and you want to help them. Think about why you will be helping them before you step in and do it. Ask yourself, is my intention set for the right reasons? Am I doing this for others to see me and applaud me for it or am I doing this good action for Allah's sake to be rewarded by Him and only Him?

Allah loves you and will love you even more when you set your intention to do things in your life for His sake and His sake only.

May Allah guide us and reward us for the good we do in our lives.
May He help us to set our intentions for the right reasons and keep our hearts firm in His religion.
